Welcome and Course Overview!

The Radiation Protection Program Implementation course, presented by Carolina Safety & Health Consultants, LLC, is designed to teach you how to put into practice a new Radiation Safety Program.

This course can be taken as a stand-alone course. It is also part of a three-module course package designed to meet the state radiation control program minimum training requirements for radiation safety officer (or RSO) certification for radiation protection programs that include the operation of electronic radiation generating devices, and radioactive materials sealed sources.

Learning Outcomes:
1. The Radiation Protection Program - its primary elements and responsible personnel. 
2. Radiological Operations – putting the radiation protection program into action in the workplace.
3. Different types of radiation survey detectors and meters.
4. Survey instruments, survey points, and steps to perform a radiation survey.
5. Review of the ALARA program.
6. Handling radiation sources, radiation Inspections, and Requirements.
7. Radiation Protection Program Review – procedures, training, security and controls.

Each Lesson will have one or more videos to watch, and a quiz. The Videos must be played completely, and the Quizzes must have 75% or higher passing grades for the Lesson to be considered Completed. You can pause and re-watch the videos as often as you'd like, and retake each quiz if needed. Once you have Completed all 7 Lessons in this course, you can download your Certificate of Completion!
